AminoBlend Privacy Policy
Template for review: this privacy policy is a working template. The business must check it against its actual systems and suppliers, and ideally have it reviewed by a legal adviser, before relying on it.
AminoBlend (ABN ) collects a small amount of personal information so that it can take orders, deliver parcels and answer questions. The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), governs how we handle it. This page explains what we hold, why, who else sees it, and how you can view, correct or complain about it.
1. Personal information we hold
Depending on how you deal with us, we may hold:
- Identity and contact details: your name, email address and phone number.
- Delivery information: the street address for your parcel and, if you enter one, an organisation or laboratory name.
- Order records: what you bought, when, the amounts charged and the shipping option chosen.
- Payment records: we accept PayID and bank transfer only. Our bank statement shows us the name on the paying account, the amount and the reference you typed. We never ask for card numbers, internet banking logins or passwords.
- Correspondence: emails and contact form messages, including any photos you attach to a claim.
- Technical data: when you browse the site, standard information such as IP address, browser type and the pages viewed may be logged.
2. How we collect it
Almost everything comes straight from you: at checkout, through the contact or order tracking forms, or by email. Technical data is collected automatically by the website and its hosting provider.
3. Why we use it
- To process, pack, post and track orders.
- To match incoming payments to orders and to pay refunds.
- To send order confirmations, dispatch emails with tracking numbers, and certificates of analysis on request.
- To deal with enquiries, claims and returns under our refund policy.
- To confirm buyers are 18 or over, detect fraud, and check that orders meet our research use policy.
- To keep the records required by tax and other laws.
Marketing emails are only sent to people who have agreed to receive them. Each one contains an unsubscribe link, and opting out does not affect order emails.
4. Who we share it with
We disclose personal information only where it is needed to run the store or where the law requires it. That can include our bank (to receive and return payments), Australia Post (to deliver your parcel), the providers that host our website and email, and professional advisers such as an accountant. We may also disclose information to government agencies or law enforcement where required or authorised by law. We never sell or rent personal information.
Information stored overseas
Some technology providers may store data on servers outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider treats the information in a way that is consistent with the APPs. [Business to list the providers and countries involved.]
5. Security and retention
Personal information is kept on password-protected systems, and only people who need it to do their job can see it. The site uses an encrypted HTTPS connection. Order records are held for as long as tax and legal obligations require, after which we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify them.
If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
6. Browser storage and cookies
The site saves your cart, and any orders placed from your browser, in that browser's local storage so they survive between visits. Clearing your browser data removes them. [Business to list any analytics or advertising tools here if they are added later.]
7. Dealing with us anonymously
You can read the site and ask general questions without telling us who you are. To post an order, though, we need a name, an address and a way to contact you.
8. Access and correction
You may request a copy of whatever personal information we keep on you, or ask us to fix anything that is wrong, incomplete or out of date. Email our support team. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within 30 days. If we decline a request, we will tell you why in writing.
9. Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your information or breached the APPs, write to our support team first so we can try to fix it. If our response does not resolve the matter, you can lodge a complaint with the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.
10. Updates to this policy
We may revise this policy as the business changes. The version on this page is the current one.
